!Hated Maddy. Seriously, un-put-downable.Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. I hope she does more, although currently she appears to be more involved in repro rights activism (salutes, Tierce!) A quick and enthralling read, Love Me Back is sure to spark conversation and will definitely be one of my September staff picks.Read this in a day because I couldn't put it down. *I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. By true love triangle I mean you get to know the story of all three people involved. Trent is very into himself and it seems always is willing to go back to Maddie when he can't have her anymore. Tierce’s depiction of the flashiest subset of Dallas high society makes the goings-on among the characters onThe praise this first novel reaps comes heavily packed with words like “unflinching,” “sad, dirty, and beautifully written,” “raw and surgically precise.” The words are accurate and Tierce deserves the praise. Love Me Back Lyrics: Picture this, you and I / With no one else around us / What if we, we were more than friends / Pretty eyes, so beautiful / When you're looking at me / I wanna tell, tell you Unfortunately, other times she’s so entwined with her story that paragraphs with the minutia of restaurant-life, the inside baseball stuff, gets stacked for pages and pages. Not a book to read if you're in a fragile emotional state, as it will make you think about all the idiotic and self-destructive things you've ever done.
This book, at least to me, is about pain: how sometimes we bring it on ourselves, how we then deal with it, and how sometimes the only thing that keeps us at least somewhat sane is just going through the motions. I read 70 percent of it in excerpts at work, and on my lunch break; the second I cracked the cover I knew I was going to keep reading until I finished.
It's really hard to delve deeply into this because it's would be really easy to spoil the book for other readers. There is nothing flashy here, where a less adept writer could misstep into melodrama. , goes behind the scenes of a fiction...Growing up in small-town Belcrest, Maddy Jennings always thought she was destined to be with her childhood sweetheart, Trent Basso. So all I'm going to say is that for me I did like the ending, I really do think she ended up with the person she should end up with. It is a love triangle that involves Maddy and the boys next door. Rarely do we get observations from our damaged narrator about her emotions—because she herself doesn’t want to look there—but when we do, they drop like anvils. The author's writing style is not what I am used to, and she often skips around in time as well as voice. I don't think he's a bad person.
